Many people come to Cape Town wanting to do more than just see the city. They want to spend some of their time helping, meeting people and contributing to something outside of their normal lives. The difficult part is often knowing where to start and finding a local organisation that can actually accommodate short-term volunteers.

That’s where Cape Trek comes in.

We connect visitors with local organisations doing work in Cape Town, starting with 9Miles: Surfing for Dreams. 9Miles works with children and young people from disadvantaged communities through surfing, mentorship and other activities that give them a safe space to learn, connect and grow.

Cape Trek helps bridge the gap between people who want to volunteer and organisations that need extra hands. We make it easier for visitors to find a place to volunteer, choose the days that work for them, and get there.

You don’t need to commit to weeks or months. If you have a few days to give, you can use them to get involved, meet people and contribute in a practical way.
